Heaton has recently teamed up with London based writer and producer Nick Rumbelow.  The pair met over at MP3unsigned.com and have already recorded 2 new tracks together called Back 2 Love and 2 Minus 1.  The collaboration has gone that well that Nick and Heaton have decided to write more tracks for the forthcoming Heaton album.  "I was blown away by Nick's ideas and musically we just seem to click".  The feedback on the new tracks has been amazing and there is a real buzz surrounding Heaton's new record.  The new album is still very much a pop affair, but will be playing to Heaton's strengths as a vocalist and songwriter.

The pair have not ruled out re-working some of Heaton's earlier work either, "We have a few tracks in mind both from my own collection and some of Nick's that we think could be given a new lease of life".  There is still no date for the new album, as the pair just want to record as much as possible over the next few months and then be in a position to select only the best for the new record.
